... we had Du Hast. Anyone want to identify the car in the video? I'm at a total loss. Either way, G'night Oppo, and enjoy your music.

It helps to know that Rammstein are all from Berlin, and grew up with Soviet culture as much as anything. It's a GAZ-21 Volga .

Awesome!
This is why I love Oppo. Unlike most car forums, you are guarnateed that someone out there knows what you want to know.
That's actually a pretty-high-spec car for 1955, and a seriously awesome car for its time. 200BHP out of a 5.5l V8 is about what US cars were outputting, and that was at the post-war peak!
Thanks!

Glad to share the knowledge. I honestly don't know much about them, other than they are pretty handsome by Soviet standards, that there's at least one badass custom hot rod one , and that they have a neat speedo .

Oh, and I first heard of them on Jalopnik, in this story . Flying, crime-fighting car, anyone?

Yes, the car in this video is GAZ-21, the successor of the GAZ-20 aka "Pobeda" (meaning "victory"). It had a 2.4 litre engine, that on a good day produced 70 hp.
And the design of this thing was actually "copied" from Ford Mainline.

Check out the episode Jay Leno's Garage about this car (it's on YT).
